Which places of worship do you offer a visit to? 05 There is a lot to do and see in one day, so we ask that you adhere strictly to the timings within the itinerary. Your are expected to arrive at your first place of worship by 9:30am and will depart the final place of worship at 14:45. How long is the visit for? 06 Yes. You can choose any two. Can I book just two places of worship in one day? 07 In one day, you can book two classes (approx. 30 students in each class). However, you may have to book separate coaches as one of the places of worship has a capacity for 30 students (give or take a few). How many classes can I arrange this for? 08 Here is the information we send out to teachers with more details about this service. View here What can I expect? 01 The actual mosque visit is a pre-recorded video. There are downloadable resources you can use in the classroom which can be used at any time. Although this specific resource is for KS2, you may find some aspects of it meets the requirement needs for your students. My class are not KS2 students, can I still book this service? 03 Holding a qualification in Islamic studies or being a Muslim leader, does not necessarily mean you are the best person to give dawah. We should choose the best amongst us for this very important role. This is based on the following verse: “Let there arise among you a group inviting to all that is good, enjoining righteousness and forbidding evil. Those are the successful ones.” — Quran, Sura 3 (Al-Imran), ayah 104 For the purpose of delivering educational visits, you must have the following: A basic understanding of Islam and a passion to learn more Good spoken English Agree to be DBS checked At least one weekday availability during working hours The desire and patience to work with children of all ages A commitment to teach Islam authentically based mainly on the Quran and Sunnah (as opposed to basing it on cultural or sectarian beliefs and values). What are the essential requirements to train with you? 01 No. Thanks to donations to our charity, all training and resources are completely free of charge. However, at the time of booking, we will ask for a small deposit (usually £50 per person) which will be refunded in full when you attend the training session. Is there a cost for this service? 02 No. We will support you with this process including any costs incurred. Will I have to pay for the DBS certificate? 03 Prior dawah experience is not essential. I don’t have any prior dawah experience; can I still train with you? 04 Yes. Due to weekday work commitments for most of our volunteers, our training sessions will usually be held over a day or two days on a weekend. Equilibria may organise other events (such as fundraising) or knowledge circles which may be held during the week, however, these will not be essential training sessions. Are all your training sessions delivered on weekends? 05 Your Questions Explore more of what we do We are working to advance the education of the public in the subject of Islam as a religion of peace, tolerance and understanding.
